Tameside has some great walking, most of it undiscovered by it’s residents.
There are 20 circular walks covered with a total of over 75 miles of footpaths in the areas of Audenshaw, Ashton-under-Lyne, Droylsden, Mossley and Stalybridge.
The walking varies in levels of difficulty but most people who are reasonably fit are capable of completing them without any problems.
Some walks may stray into more than one town or occasionally into a different borough. Most of the walks take between 1-2 hours to complete them.
The terrain is a mixture of paths and tracks across farmland, fields and along canals or rivers.
